Doha: From Hollywood to Qatar; Alfardan Automobiles, the exclusive BMW Group importer in Qatar, held an exclusive viewing of the long-awaited Paramount blockbuster “Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol” for VIP guests one day before the movie opened to the general public.
As the film’s main automotive partner, BMW Group provided the long awaited blockbuster movie with many of its latest cars, including the yet-to-launch BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept car, which has been recognized as having the most sophisticated technology and the most striking design among the current concept electric supercars. The upcoming BMW i8, which was inspired by the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics concept vehicle, will enter series production in the coming years, and is expected to redefine the concept of supercars, erasing the misconception that sustainable mobility comes at the expense of dynamic performance.
In addition to that, the BMW 6 Series Coupe and Convertible, and the BMW 7 Series also made appearances in the movie, which was partly filmed in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Both the BMW 6 Series Coupe and Convertible are involved in exciting scenes in the movie, including an exhilarating car-chase scene through the streets of Dubai. Guests expressed great interest in the BMW 6 Series Coupe especially, which was launched in Qatar just last month, and was met with great interest by viewers who were thrilled by its dynamic design and performance.
Held at Villagio Mall Cinema Complex in Doha, the movie’s national premiere was attended by VIP guests and media officials . As an added treat for its guests, Alfardan Automobiles displayed the BMW 6 Series Coupe at the Villagio Mall Cinema Complex, allowing them an up close look at the vehicle.

The All New BMW 3 Series Debuts in the Middle East at the Qatar Motor Show
The new sixth generation BMW 3 Series expected to strengthen position as the world's best-selling premium car.
Doha – The all new sixth generation BMW 3 Series – the world's best-selling premium car – has made its Middle East debut at the Qatar Motor Show today.
Having sold 12.5 million cars since its launch in 1975, the BMW 3 Series continues to be BMW Group's best-selling model series consistently accounting for more than a quarter of the company's global sales. In 2010, every third BMW sold was a 3 Series. The success story of the 3 Series over the past 37 years has made it the world's best-selling premium car.
Commenting on the Middle East debut, Mr. Mohammad Kandeel, General Manager of Alfardan Automobiles said: “We are very proud to start this year with the launch of such an important BMW model and to be the first Middle East market to showcase this car to the public. The new car is bigger, sportier and more dynamic, and the first BMW model to offer three different lines: Modern, Sport and Luxury. The new powerful design elements include a new BMW face, with flat headlights reaching along as far as the BMW kidney grille. This emphasises the elegantly dynamic design of the new BMW 3 Series, which has increased in length (+93mm), width (front +37mm, rear +47mm) and wheelbase (+50mm) compared to the predecessor model, giving the car an elegant and athletic silhouette.
Inside the new BMW 3 Series, the noticeable increase in space means significant benefit for the rear passengers. The classic BMW interior surfaces and lines flow over the instrument panel towards the front passenger side of the cabin, where they form a smooth and protective border. The cockpit wraps around the driver and ensures that all important functions are within easy reach.
Drive and chassis technology have always been key areas of expertise for the brand, and agility and driving dynamics remain outstanding attributes of the new BMW 3 Series. A choice of two powerful four-cylinder engines: 335i and 328i with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and TwinPower Turbo technology will be available for the new 3 Series offering more EfficientDynamics technology that make the new 3 Series more economical and lower in pollutant emissions compared to the predecessor model.
BMW EfficientDynamics technology includes the new Driving Experience Control switch which comes with four driving programmes allowing the driver to choose between sporty, ultra sporty, comfortable and extremely economical driving. ECO PRO mode, a new feature on the 3 Series, helps drivers maximise fuel economy through their driving style, thereby enabling them to increase the distance they can travel on each tank of fuel.
Under the umbrella of BMW ConnectedDrive, features that give the driver and passengers information and services to help make their driving experience safer and more comfortable, the new BMW 3 Series offers the latest-generation full-colour Head-Up Display, which projects key information in 3D onto the windscreen so it appears directly in the driver’s field of view. Also available is Surround View with Side View and Top View, which gives a bird’s-eye perspective of the vehicle and the area around it.

Three winners to represent Qatar at the BMW Golf Cup International Championship.
Doha - Last weekend, amateur golfers from Qatar competed in the national round of the world's largest amateur tournament series for the aim of securing their place in the World Final of the BMW Golf Cup International.
The three winners from Qatar; David Borrows, Nasser Ali Al-Kaabi and Yanling Wang will be flown to the BMW Golf Cup International Final where they will tee off against more than 100 other golfers representing over 30 countries at the Sentosa Golf Club in Sinagpore starting 5th of March 2012.
With around 80,000 golfers competing from over 30 different countries every year, the BMW Golf Cup International is one of the most renowned and largest international tournament series for amateurs and forms an integral part of the BMW Golfsport programme. Players fall in to one of three categories: Men A (up to handicap 12), Men B (handicap 13 to 28) and Ladies (up to handicap 28). Qualification tournaments take place in the respective countries to determine national winners in each category. Each victorious trio then goes on to compete in the World Final.
